2006 Zouk Out Diary Day #1: 08122006

Yipeee...it's time to party...Singapore...we're coming.
Woke up at 4 AM, got prepare, kissed Varen goodbye, picked-up by Prima at 5 AM, then off to CGK aiport.
Me, Ovi, Prima, Nanda...arrived at the airport, headed for check-in counter, met Prillo and the girls there.
They were Ria, Lita, and Ingga. Hi Girls...we'll be staying at the same room in Singapore.

OMG...it's delayed to 11.25...we suppose to fly at 7.15...4 hrs behind the schedule...so much for my itinerary! Hiks...
I informed Evert about this thing and he decided to stay for a while at home...damn you!

Then we met Aoura & the (another) girls...Felice & Rosie. Nice to meet you all ladies!

Nothing to do beside playing UNO Card...thanks God I put it in my cabin bag. Prima really couldn't live without his laptop.

We got a voucher to be redeem at Restaurant Soka. We ate and played UNO there, few rounds went on, I didn't win any single game...Huh!

Finally, 11.25 the plane flew to Batam...I sat with Ovi & Evert. What could I ask for more?...got my hubby & some of my best friends travel with me.
Thanks God...it really is a blessing for me.

It was quite a hassle to reach Elizabeth Tower Apartment. With 10 people in tow, and I was the one who walks very fast..:).

From Batam aiport to the port, waited 1 hour, boated to Harbour Front, and arrived at 4.30PM. I hugged Nanda when we reached Orchard Rd. Broad smile we put on our face...Hi Orchard, nice to see you again!

We stayed in 2 rooms, for Men & Women. After few hours of rest and preparation, we were set again, ready to enjoy the first night in Singapore. First destination: Dinner! C'mon guys, I'm starving here! We had our very first dinner in NOOCH, Paragon. There were Me, Ovi, Nanda, Evert, Aoura, Prillo, and Prima. The other girls were still taking a bath in the apt.

Took some pics in front of Christmast Tree outside Paragon, then off we went to BALCONY next to The Heeren.
It was a really nice spot, we sat upstair, the guys had few drinks. Me and Ovi as usual had our ice mocha.
Then we headed for Flo at One Fulerton. There's a well-known Indonesian DJ named Anton from Future 10 playing there.

I met Jaka, for the first time...it was cool, we got a guest list from Lita-the future10 girl. Thanks girl! Spent only an hour there, then we headed straight to Clarke Quay where we wanted to enter Ministry Of Sound. The very famous club coming from UK...and been in Singapore for almost a year.

It was very cool, with many rooms playing different genres inside. And at that time there was an event of Hed Kandi with Live PA (saxophone!!!).

We left the premise at 4 in the morning, off to Newton Circus to have early breakfast.
I had chicken satay which was quite nice, but Evert's 'Kwetiau' wasn't so good and wasn't cooked very well.

Reached the apt at 5.30 AM with Prima opened the door for us.

2006 ACN Bowling Competition

Yup...on a Friday afternoon, 22 Sept 2006...we had a bowling competition to be won.

Retail sent 2 teams: Retail 1 consists of TY, Ipin, Evert, Agung…and Retail 2 consists of BG, Abas, Reza, Vesta.

We looked forward to get 1st and 2nd winner this year as last year we were the 1st champion.

All the teams must play 2 games, the scores will be cumulated and from there we would know who the top 5 teams are.

We were so glad that most of Retail colleagues gathered behind our lanes to support us.

None of other departments had this crowd…though I know the reason why…hehehe.

At the 1st game, Retail 2 got a higher score than Retail 1, and they made it even at the 2nd game.

We noticed that there was a team who played better than us…J

And at the end of the event, when the committee announced the winners, Retail 2 won a 2nd place while Retail 1 got a 3rd one.

That was not over yet, they also gave prizes for Lowest Score (Man/Woman) and Highest Score (Man/Woman). Hey…I got the prize as the highest score…nice!

So, thanks for your support, it was a good game.

The 3rd One Who Beat Me in Reversi Game

Othelo OR Reversi Game.

Hope everyone is familiar with this game. The main purpose of this game is to flip the pins into your color (whether it’s black or white). Strategic thinking needed here!

I’ve played this game since I was in elementary school. My dad taught me how to play it.

Continue to play it whenever I feel like to, even I tried it online, up until now I still love the game.

About a month ago, I became addicted to this game. I ask almost all my friends to play with me. And the thing is, the more you play it, the better you plan your way/strategy.

My friends said that I’m a defending champion of Othello, yup…’coz I always win the game.

There were only 2 people who can beat me: Nanda and Budy.

Nanda is also a champion herself; she said that she was beaten only by her dad and me.

But, Budy…at his 1st attempt in beating me, he did it…he won by 2 pins…so he got 33 while he left me 31 pins…damn, you are good!

After that Budy ‘incident’ I became unbeatable, everyone’s furious at me, tried to make me lost.

Reza (I once left him 5 pins only), Prillo (9 pins), Satrio (10 pins), Baron (10 pins), and many more.

The best game I’ve ever had was when I compete with Baron. It happened that my friends gave him suggestions; there were 7 other people who were in his side. I thought every move by myself, while he did with the help of 7 other people. It’s not fair…but really fun though.

The kind of game ever made me nervous and got my face pale eventually, ‘coz at few last moves the pins became all white (I was playing Black as usual), damn I’d lost it…!

But…he made a mistake, at some point. Then in a very easy way, I flip all those pins into Black color, making him scream not to eat all his white ones.

Prillo, he’s my friend who always curious in how to beat me. He even browsed www.othellouniversity.com in order to learn the strategy in winning the game. Well…well, that’s so ambitious, my dear!

One day, on a Friday night, September 15th, we catch up at LOCA Kemang. There were Homer, Ria, Evert, Ovi, Prima, Riva, and me. We chatted along and ordered some food/drinks. Then Prillo joined us there. I asked him to play Othello second after he touched his bump on the seat.

He agreed easily…of course!

I was so sure I’d beat him again after so many times he lost it…and that’s wrong!

He actually won the game, and hit me really hard as there were only 24 pins left for me. Yup, 24!

It was the biggest loss I’ve ever experienced in my life.

He was so good at that time, and I must admit it. He even took a picture of it, said he’d distribute it widely so everyone will know he won it from me…the defending champion.

Since that night, he officially became the 3rd person who beat me in reverse game. Good on you, Pril!...I’ll see you in our next game.

Tribute to Steve Irwin: Fondest Farewell 20/09/06

I put my alarm last night to ring at 5.45 AM this morning. I planned to get up earlier, got dressed and ready to sit still in front of TV.

At 6 AM I turned on Animal Planet channel and sat on my bed to watch a memorial service of Steve Irwin. The show named: “Steve Irwin, He Changed Our World”.

16 Days after he passed away...the Public Farewell for Steve Irwin held today September 20th, 2006 in Australia Zoo, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

3000 tickets have been given away for public; thousands came early this morning to celebrate the life of remarkable Australian-Crocodile Hunter.

John Howard attended this very special moment;he was the first to speak at the memorial. While Terri, Bindi, and Bob sat at the back looked on, an empty seat reserved as a symbol for Steve Irwin’s place, next to his beloved family.
It was left vacant as a reminder that the most important guest is missing.

Worldwide entertainers, Australian singers, and Close Friends gave tributes to ‘the best daddy in the whole world’ as they genuinely adore Steve.

In my life, I’ve never seen such a memorial service broadcast live on air, with entertaining shots, comments, clips were shown.

So, I bet everyone loves this great bloke from OZ a lot.

Bob Irwin – Steve’s father – also gave a speech on behalf of Irwin’s family. He said that we should not grief for Steve anymore as he’s peacefully rest in heaven, but we must grief for the animals that have lost their best friend.

Australian Star, Russell Crowe was the first to give taped tribute shown at the memorial.

The most special moments of this funeral to me were when Bindi appeared on the stage to give her last tribute for his daddy. Audiences stood up and gave her standing applause, they even yelled: “I Love You Bindi”. It was so touched, just by looking at her appearance and hearing to her speech.

And the other one was when Steve’s truck and his belongings (including his surf board) loaded to the truck left the zoo, followed by all the Crocs Crew.

Goodbye Steve…as everyone always said: You’ll definitely be missed.

BINDI Irwin's speech at her father Steve Irwin's memorial service today at Australia Zoo.

"My Daddy was my hero - he was always there for me when I needed him.

"He listened to me and taught me so many things but most of all he was fun.

"I know that daddy had an important job. He was working to change the world so everyone would love wildlife like he did.

"He built a hospital to help animals and he bought lots of land to give animals a safe place to live.

"He took me and my brother and my mum with him all the time. We filmed together, caught crocodiles together and loved being in the bush together.

"I don't want daddy's passion to ever end.

"I want to help endangered wildlife just like he did.

"I have the best daddy in the whole world and I will miss him every day.
"When I see a crocodile I will always think of him and I know that daddy made this zoo so everyone could come and learn to love all the animals.

"Daddy made this place his whole life and now it's our turn to help daddy."

Tribute to Steve Irwin: Australian Marie Claire, Sept Issue

STEVE IRWIN, 44, CROCODILE HUNTER, AND BINDI, 8

Steve: "The most important thing in Bindi's life is that she's grown up in a zoo. Crikey, we're all over the crocs, the snakes, the birds, the turtles, the kangaroos and the koalas. Bindi's passionate about animals, but she's also into singing, dancing and dress-ups, like any other little girl. "We were up in Cape York Peninsula catching crocodiles and this particular croc that I'd caught was over four metres and he was scary! Bindi walks down from the camp to find me hanging off this crocodile and says, 'Excuse me, Daddy, when you're finished here could you please come back to the camp and play with Barbie?' So when I'd finished with the croc, I went back to camp and played with the Barbie dolls. I'd do anything to spend time with my daughter."

Bindi
: "I love that he's funny, he's entertaining and he's always there when I need him most. I'm proud to have a dad like that, who takes on conservation issues around the world. I love him very, very much."

Australia Zoo, 20 June 2006.
